Shared Home Club
Both members primarily play at Scottsdale Shea under a Founder Platinum Couples Membership.
The membership remains assigned to Scottsdale Shea with its Founder benefits.
Where You Play
One member primarily plays at Scottsdale Mayo while the other remains at Scottsdale Shea.
Center Court may reassign the Home Club or convert the account into two individual memberships.
Exceptional Circumstance
One member accepts a four-month overseas work assignment while the other wishes to continue playing.
The membership may be temporarily separated so one member can freeze.
Returning to Couples
Two individual memberships are ready to return after an approved temporary conversion.
Center Court may restore the applicable Couples Membership using the corresponding pricing available at that time.

1. Purpose
This policy explains how Couples Memberships operate at Center Court Pickleball, including eligibility, billing, Home Club designation, membership benefits, membership freezes, and membership administration.
Our goal is simple.
To provide a straightforward, flexible, and member-friendly Couples Membership that allows two members to enjoy Center Court together while ensuring membership pricing, benefits, and Home Club designation remain fair, consistent, and aligned with the integrity of our membership structure.
By doing so, we create a simple and inclusive membership experience, reduce unnecessary administrative requirements, provide clarity for our members, and preserve the integrity and value of every Center Court membership.
2. Couples Membership Definition
A Couples Membership consists of two members sharing one membership account under one membership category.
A Couples Membership is considered one membership shared by two members.
Accordingly, membership pricing, billing, Home Club designation, reservation privileges, Open Play access, guest privileges, membership freezes, and other membership benefits apply to the membership as a whole unless otherwise stated within this policy.
Both members receive the same:
- Membership category.
- Membership pricing.
- Home Club.
- Reservation privileges.
- Open Play privileges.
- Guest privileges.
- Membership benefits.
The purpose of this structure is to provide a simple, consistent, and equitable membership experience for both members.
3. Eligibility
Center Court has intentionally designed its Couples Membership to be simple, inclusive, and member focused.
Eligibility is based solely upon two members choosing to share:
- One membership account.
- One payment account.
- One membership category.
- One designated Home Club.
Center Court does not require additional relationship criteria beyond these membership requirements.
4. Billing
All Couples Memberships operate under one billing account.
All membership dues and recurring charges will be processed through a single payment method.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Monthly membership dues.
- Membership upgrades.
- Family add-on memberships.
- Membership freeze fees.
- Any other applicable membership charges.
Center Court will not maintain separate billing arrangements for members participating within the same Couples Membership.
5. Home Club
Every Couples Membership is assigned one designated Home Club.
Both members are expected to primarily participate from their designated Home Club.
The Home Club for a Couples Membership is determined using the same principles outlined within the Center Court Home Club Designation Policy (MBR-001).
If either member primarily uses another Center Court location for greater than fifty percent (50%) of their actual play, participation, and club usage, Center Court may review the Couples Membership to determine whether the designated Home Club continues to reflect actual usage.
Reviews, communication, appeals, and implementation will follow the process outlined within the Home Club Designation Policy.
Where appropriate, Center Court may:
- Maintain the existing Couples Membership.
- Assign a different Home Club.
- Convert the membership into two equivalent individual memberships where a shared Home Club designation is no longer practical.
Members should understand that if a Home Club change becomes necessary as a result of actual usage patterns ("Where You Play"), Center Court cannot guarantee that existing membership pricing or promotional pricing will be available at the newly designated Home Club.
Founder Membership pricing and associated Founder benefits are reserved exclusively for the club where the membership was originally established.
Except where specifically approved by Executive Leadership due to exceptional circumstances, Founder pricing and associated benefits are not transferable between Home Club locations.
6. Membership Categories & Benefits
Both members must maintain the same membership category.
Current Couples Membership categories include:
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Founder Platinum
- Founder Diamond
- Loyalty Platinum
- Loyalty Diamond
Both members receive identical membership benefits associated with their selected membership category.
Couples Memberships cannot consist of different membership categories.
Membership benefits may include, but are not limited to:
- Reservation booking windows.
- Active reservation limits.
- Open Play booking windows.
- Guest privileges.
- Club-specific events and promotions.
- Other membership benefits offered by Center Court.
Membership benefits are governed by both the selected membership category and the member's designated Home Club.
Center Court reserves the right to modify reservation windows, reservation limits, Open Play access, guest privileges, and other membership benefits from time to time as business needs evolve.
7. Membership Freezes
Couples Memberships are entitled to the same annual freeze allowance as all Center Court memberships.
A Couples Membership may be frozen for a maximum of four (4) months during each twelve (12) month membership period.
The twelve-month period is based upon the commencement date of the Couples Membership.
The membership freeze applies to the Couples Membership as a whole, not to each individual member.
Accordingly:
- Both members will freeze together; or
- Neither member will freeze.
The monthly freeze fee for a Couples Membership is $40 per month.
During an approved membership freeze:
- Membership privileges are temporarily suspended.
- Billing will be adjusted to the applicable freeze fee.
- The membership will retain its existing membership status and pricing, subject to all other applicable membership policies.
8. Membership Changes Due to Exceptional Circumstances
Center Court recognizes that life circumstances occasionally affect one member but not the other.
Examples may include:
- Extended work assignments.
- Temporary relocation.
- Family responsibilities.
- Medical recovery.
- Military deployment.
- Other significant personal circumstances.
In these situations, and with a minimum of thirty (30) days' written notice, Center Court may temporarily convert a Couples Membership into two equivalent individual memberships.
This allows one member to utilize the applicable membership freeze while the other continues enjoying uninterrupted membership.
Each member may retain their existing membership category and associated membership pricing.
Examples include:
- Founder Platinum remains Founder Platinum.
- Founder Diamond remains Founder Diamond.
- Loyalty Platinum remains Loyalty Platinum.
- Loyalty Diamond remains Loyalty Diamond.
- Platinum remains Platinum.
- Diamond remains Diamond.
Members will not lose Founder or Loyalty pricing solely because of this administrative conversion.
When both members are ready to return, Center Court may convert the individual memberships back to the applicable Couples Membership using the corresponding Couples Membership pricing available for that membership category.
Exceptional circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis by Center Court, and approval remains at the discretion of Executive Leadership.
9. Voluntary Membership Changes
Members may request to convert a Couples Membership into two equivalent individual memberships by providing a minimum of thirty (30) days' written notice.
Upon conversion:
- Each member may retain their existing membership category and associated membership pricing, including applicable Founder or Loyalty pricing.
- Each member may establish their own designated Home Club in accordance with MBR-001 – Home Club Designation Policy.
- Each membership will thereafter be administered independently.
Members should carefully consider this decision before requesting conversion as voluntary conversion from a Couples Membership may affect future eligibility, pricing, and membership options.
A Couples Membership is intended to represent a long-term membership commitment and is not designed to support frequent changes between Couples and Individual Memberships.
Accordingly, where a Couples Membership is voluntarily converted into individual memberships:
- Center Court will generally not approve an application to re-establish the same Couples Membership for a minimum period of twelve (12) months.
- Following that period, any request to establish a Couples Membership will be subject to the membership categories, pricing, promotions, eligibility requirements, and availability in effect at that time.
- Previous Couples Membership pricing, promotional pricing, or other historical membership rates cannot be guaranteed upon re-establishment of a Couples Membership.
Where one former member of a Couples Membership subsequently wishes to establish a new Couples Membership with a different member, Center Court may consider such a request after a minimum period of six (6) months.
Any such request will be subject to:
- Current membership policies.
- Current membership categories and pricing.
- Home Club eligibility.
- Membership availability.
- Approval by Executive Leadership.
Exceptional circumstances may be considered by Executive Leadership at its sole discretion.
Center Court reserves the right to decline requests where repeated membership changes are determined to be inconsistent with the intent of the Couples Membership program.
10. Junior Memberships
Junior Memberships attached to a Couples Membership continue to operate under the benefits associated with their own Junior Membership category.
Current Junior Membership categories include:
- Junior Gold
- Junior Platinum
Junior Members continue to receive the reservation privileges, Open Play access, and other benefits applicable to their respective Junior Membership.
If a Couples Membership enters an approved membership freeze:
- Associated Junior Memberships will automatically be placed on freeze for the same period.
- Center Court will not charge any additional freeze fee for Junior Memberships attached to the Couples Membership.
We recognize that families often enjoy Center Court together. Freezing Junior Memberships at no additional cost is simply one of the ways we thank our families for being part of our community.
11. Member Responsibilities
All members are responsible for understanding the following:
- Couples Memberships operate under one billing account.
- Both members must maintain the same membership category.
- Both members share one designated Home Club.
- Home Club designation is determined by actual play, participation, and club usage in accordance with MBR-001 – Home Club Designation Policy.
- Membership freezes apply to the Couples Membership rather than each individual member unless otherwise approved under Section 8 – Membership Changes Due to Exceptional Circumstances.
- Membership pricing, reservation access, Open Play access, guest privileges, and other membership benefits are governed by the applicable membership category and designated Home Club.
- Home Club designation may be reviewed where member usage no longer aligns with the designated Home Club.
Questions regarding Couples Membership eligibility, Home Club designation, or membership administration should be directed to your Home Club management team.
12. Examples
Example 1 – Shared Home Club
Both members join as a Founder Platinum Couples Membership at Scottsdale Shea and primarily play at Scottsdale Shea.
Result: The Couples Membership remains assigned to Scottsdale Shea with Founder Platinum pricing and associated Founder benefits.
Example 2 – Where You Play
One member begins primarily playing at Scottsdale Mayo while the other continues primarily playing at Scottsdale Shea.
Following a Home Club Review conducted in accordance with MBR-001 – Home Club Designation Policy, Center Court determines the designated Home Club no longer reflects the membership's actual usage.
Result: Center Court may reassign the Home Club or convert the membership into two equivalent individual memberships.
Should a Home Club reassignment become necessary, Founder pricing associated with Scottsdale Shea may not transfer to Scottsdale Mayo, and the membership may be enrolled at the then-current pricing applicable to the newly designated Home Club unless an exception is approved by Executive Leadership.
Example 3 – Exceptional Circumstances
One member accepts a four-month overseas work assignment while the other wishes to continue playing.
Result: With thirty (30) days' written notice, Center Court may temporarily convert the Couples Membership into two equivalent individual memberships.
One member may utilize the applicable membership freeze while the other continues enjoying uninterrupted membership.
When both members are ready, Center Court may convert the memberships back into the applicable Couples Membership.
Example 4 – Returning to a Couples Membership
A couple temporarily converts their Couples Membership into two individual memberships due to an approved exceptional circumstance.
Twelve months later, they wish to resume a Couples Membership.
Result: Provided both members meet the requirements of this policy, Center Court may convert the individual memberships back into the applicable Couples Membership using the corresponding Couples Membership pricing available for their membership category at that time.
13. Policy Enforcement
Center Court reserves the right to administer Couples Memberships in accordance with this policy and MBR-001 – Home Club Designation Policy.
The purpose of this policy is not to restrict members from enjoying Center Court together. Rather, it is to provide a flexible, member-focused Couples Membership while ensuring membership pricing, benefits, Home Club designation, and membership administration remain fair, consistent, and aligned with the integrity of every Center Court membership.
This policy has been intentionally designed to simplify the member experience while allowing Center Court the flexibility to consider exceptional circumstances where appropriate.
As Center Court expands locations, memberships, and offerings, these policies may be updated accordingly.
The most current version of this policy is available through your Home Club management team or the Center Court member portal.
All Couples Memberships are subject to this policy.
